Rainy Day Wedding Vancouver

We live in Vancouver. And we got used to rain. Sometimes we do not even notice that it is raining and don’t take our umbrellas. However, it is another story when it comes to weddings. Most couples wish for warm dry weather, clear sky and little bit of sun. But still there are some couples who love rain and don’t care what Mother Nature will surprise them with on their big day.

Maddie and Mat were planning to have outdoor ceremony at Stanley Park, so we were keeping track of the weather forecast and offered them to have a backup plan in case of rain. The couple was very relaxed and excited about their wedding, so their answer was “We will have umbrellas and poncho’s for the guests. We’ll embrace the rain and look forward to moody photos if that’s the case!” We just loved it!

But nobody could even imagine what happened on the day of Maddie and Mat’s wedding at August 29, 2015. Storm hit the West Coast. Purring rain, strongest wind, traffic jam all over Downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park closure… That was the craziest wedding day we ever experienced! But Maddie and Mat kept smiling! They were so optimistic, romantic, loving… So in spite of the Mother Nature’s surprise they had a fun and happy wedding and beautiful photos that will stay with them for the rest of their lives!

Rainy Day Wedding Vancouver. We love taking pictures when it rains! We had already a chance to photograph rainy wedding of Juliane and Robin at Burnaby Village Museum.
